Our Heritage
The foundation of Vaid Akshaya Ayurvedics rests on nearly a century of Ayurvedic excellence, passed down through generations of the Sharma family.
Our legacy began with Late Kaviraj Pt. Durga Dutt Sharma, a Gold Medalist from Dayanand Ayurvedic College, Lahore (1936), and recipient of the prestigious Vaidya-Vachaspati title. He established the Navratna Kalpa Pharmacy and served as an Honorary Physician to the President of India, Late Giani Zail Singh, and Governor of Punjab, Mr. M.M. Chaudhary. His contributions to Ayurveda were monumental, shaping the foundation for authentic Ayurvedic practice in Punjab and beyond.
His son, Vaid Akshaya Kumar Sharma (Ayurvedacharya), carried this legacy forward after graduating from Dayanand Ayurvedic College, Jalandhar, in 1964. With dedication and compassion, he treated thousands of patients with chronic and complex ailments. His work gained global recognition, and during his visit to Alberta Assembly, Canada (2007), he was honoured with a standing ovation as a world-renowned Ayurvedic physician from India.

Continuing the Legacy
Today, the institution is led by Dr. Pavitar Sharma (B.A.M.S.), a third-generation Ayurvedic physician and Director of Vaid Akshaya Ayurvedics. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Sharma has become a prominent name in the field of Ayurveda, representing India’s healing tradition across 20+ countries, including the U.K., France, Belgium, Germany, USA, Canada, UAE, Malaysia, and Australia.
In recognition of his exceptional contribution to Ayurveda, he was honoured by the AYUSH Department and the Government of Punjab with the Dhanwantri Award (2024) for excellence in Ayurveda.
Carrying this proud lineage forward into the fourth generation, Dr. Shubham Sharma (B.A.M.S.) continues to integrate traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern research and a global outlook — ensuring that the wisdom of Ayurveda remains relevant and effective in today’s world.
